Our executive committee is made up of the Group Chairman, the Group Secretary, the Group Treasurer, the Group Scout Leader, the Assistant Group Scout Leader, section leaders and parents of the young people in our sections.
According to POR rule 3.23, Section Leaders may be members of the executive committee but do not have to be. If a Section Leader is not a member of the executive committee, the section may be represented on the executive committee by another leader or assistant. (i.e. Section Leaders get first refusal, but we ought to have all sections represented if possible). Section Leaders who are formally members of the executive committee are free to send deputies to meetings they cannot make; other leaders in the sections are free to attend meetings, although they are formally there as observers.)
