Whether you’re a young person who wants a taste of adventure, a parent who’s looking for new interests for their child, an adult who wants to volunteer or help out in some way, or an organisation wanting to work with us, we want to hear from you!
Ever been in Scouts (or Beavers, Cubs, or Explorers for that matter!), or wondered what it’s all about? Come to Newnham and see what we get up to! We are a thriving Scout Group with over 150 children aged 4-18! All our young people love adventures, learning new things, making friends, and of course being outdoors (preferably with fire), and the adults do too!
Adults in Scouting have just as much fun as the children, and we are very lucky to be the nearest Scout Group to Cambridge University, so have strong ties with several colleges, and have welcomed student leaders from all over the globe.
Whether you’re a student at university looking for something worthwhile to do in your spare time with a feeling of satisfaction that you have really made a difference, or a parent with a few hours to spare in your busy working life we’d love to welcome you next!
Volunteering in Scouting is flexible and can be tailored to suit you, whether you can give a little time (or a lot) every minute you give will help improve lives in your community and enable young people to have fun. From assistant leaders and occasional helpers to representatives on the committee or even just coming along to events and maintenance days your support can really make a difference.
