The 11th/9th Cambridge Beaver Colony is based at the Newnham Scout and Guide Centre. The colony meets from 18:00 until 19:00 on Thursdays.

Beavers make up the youngest section in Scouting, for boys and girls aged between 6 and 8. We aim to help young people develop so that they can go on to even more exciting adventures in Cubs and Scouts. As well as weekly evening meetings, there are weekend and overnight activities on offer from time to time.

We are a popular colony with a maximum of 24 Beavers at any one time. There may be a joining list, but we aim to have all potential Beavers join us within a term of first enquiry. We welcome additional adult and young leader volunteers.

Our uniforms page has all the details about what to wear and where badges should be sewn.

Badges at home

The Beaver programme involves a wide variety of badges and Beavers will be able to earn many of these by attending each week and getting involved in the fun activities! Additional evidence for badge criteria completed at home can be uploaded via the Badges at Home section of Online Scout Manager.
